McLaren Teases a New Grand Touring Supercar

Don’t ever call McLaren the British Ferrari or Lamborghini. Their cars like the hybrid P1 and the track-focused Senna are just two examples of the kind of automotive nirvana the marque creates, not to mention the legendary F1. Now, they’re onto something a tad more gentlemanly in the form of a new grand touring car. But its plan is to redefine the typically V12 front-engined, long-hooded, 2+2 configuration into something that can toe the line between long-distance comfort and track-ready performance. CEO Mike Flewitt showed off a cloaked test car that appears to be mid-engined, long, and very sleek. From the flowing hood to the big rear haunches and sloping greenhouse, the new GT car might just turn out to be the brand’s most beautiful car to date. Flewett stated that their grand tourer will be extremely lightweight, agile, and righteously quick, borrowing DNA from the McLaren Speedtail and its 250 mph top speed. No details have been provided about specs, release date, or pricing, but if it’s anything like the brand’s latest offerings, prepare to be blown away.
