The orange and baby blue Gulf Oil livery might just be the most famous racing colorway of all time, followed by the likes of Martini Racing, John Player Special, Alitalia, and Rothman’s. This time, the Gulf livery shows up on the radical McLaren Elva open-top supercar. Although the specs and performance of the Elva go unchanged, the livery brings the look of the legendary Porsche 917 Gulf Livery to an ultra-modern supercar, as well as celebrating a relationship between Gulf and McLaren that started in the 1960s. The Elva is a limited-production member of the McLaren Ultimate Series. Its power comes from a mid-mounted 840-hp twin-turbo V8 that rockets the Elva to 60 mph in under three seconds and to 124 mph in a mere 6.7 seconds. This specially-painted takes center stage at Goodwood SpeedWeek.
