One of the first things you notice getting behind the wheel of a high-end car is how much more comfortable the driver’s seat is compared to your commuter sedan. It feels so sculpted it’s not beyond question that Ferrari had someone follow you around for a week taking sneaky measurements before you got in the car. Office chairs have been slow to follow suit, but Ferrari’s design team is giving it a bit of a jump-start with a chair they’ve created for Italian brand Poltrona Frau. Their President and Executive designs borrow heavily from racing seats and if it weren’t for the fact that they’re not surrounded by car, you couldn’t tell the difference. The President’s back reaches a little higher than the Executive’s, and of the two, the President is far closer to the racing inspiration. That’s not to say the Executive is any slouch. It emphasizes lower back support and looks like where you might pilot a Ferrari go-kart. No matter which you choose, your office is about to go a whole lot faster.
