You can now own a piece of street art history.

In the bustling streets of Shoreditch, London, Banksy’s Holywell Row Happy Choppers once graced the side of a nondescript office building in 2006. The artwork, showcasing a whimsical fleet of Apache helicopters adorned with pink bows, drew crowds and intrigue, yet its presence was short-lived. Triggering the security light incessantly, the mural was eventually painted over in black and the space sold. Little did anyone know, the iconic Banksy masterpiece lay hidden beneath layers of paint until the new owners stumbled upon its secret while perusing Steve Lazarides’ revealing book, “Banksy Captured.”

Years of obscurity led to a serendipitous discovery, followed by a painstaking restoration process undertaken by the skilled hands of the Fine Art Restoration Company. Now, this once-lost treasure is emerging from the shadows and onto the auction block courtesy of Anderson & Garland. Spanning six feet in width and four feet in height, the artwork has been carefully dissected into eight pieces, each retaining the essence of Banksy’s signature style. Prospective buyers eager to claim a piece of street art history can view the fragmented masterpiece on March 15, 16, and 18, with bidding slated to commence on March 20. Don’t miss your chance to own a slice of urban legend reborn.
