Whether you’re talking about the incredible technological advances, stock prices, product developments or the turtlenecks, Steve Jobs is an icon the likes of which will never be replaced. As such, he’s become a celebrity because of his impact on society as a whole–even before his death. Even when you’re not talking about personal data storage, portable music access, click-wheels or other tech, everything surrounding Jobs is a piece of history that needs to be saved for the ages. Which brings us to the upcoming Charterfield’s auction for Steve Jobs 1973 Hand-Written and Signed Job Application. On the surface, this is just a single page signed job application from 1973 wherein Steve Jobs highlights his experience with “computers and calculators” and special abilities in “electronic tech or design engineer – digital”. This document is believed to be from the period after Jobs dropped out of Reed College and prior to his joining Atari as a technician where he would ultimately meet the Woz and then found Apple. In other words, it’s an historic piece of documentation before Jobs was, well, Jobs and will retain it’s value for decades, if not centuries, to come. Bidding for the Steve Jobs 1973 Hand-Written and Signed Job Application begins on 2/24 at around $21,000 and concludes on 3/24.
