While we appreciated the futuristic design of Audio-Technica’s recently released clear record player, their re-release of the retro Sound Burger really caught our eyes. The Sound Burger was originally released over 40 years ago and had a pretty simple design. It is a portable, compact turntable that clamps onto vinyl records and lets you play them just about anywhere. The updated version still plays at 33-1/3 and 45 RPMs but also adds Bluetooth connectivity and a USB-C jack to charge the the player. The battery life delivers up to 12 hours of playback and the added Bluetooth means you can stream your records over headphones or any Bluetooth speaker system. Don’t necessarily expect it to deliver hi-fi quality, but the vintage novelty is more than worth the $199 price tag. Sadly, the newly released Audio-Technica Sound Burger has already sold out but keep your eyes peeled for future editions which are sure to come quickly.
