Lambo doesn’t really have much of a racing history, but that could change with the arrival of its new Squadra Corse that was built for the upcoming FIA World Endurance Championship’s Hypercar class, going up against the likes of Cadillac, Porsche, and BMW. The new LMDh racer is powered by a twin-turbocharged hybrid V8 engine that delivers 681 snorting horses by way of a seven-speed hybrid gearbox, and it marks the first racing engine developed from the ground up by Lamborghini Squadra Corse. The engine weighs in at a scant 400 pounds, and the lightweight carbon fiber chassis will no doubt help maximize the power output given that the car weighs in at a mere 2,270 pounds. Other details include triple-beam LED headlights, substantial hood scoops, a hexagonal roof scoop, and Terzo Millennio-inspired headlights from the Lamborghini SIÁN FKP 37. The car will be able to hit speeds in excess of 201 mph, and it will debut in 2024 in both the IMSA Endurance Cup and the FIA World Endurance Championship.
