We love our Amazon Echo devices as much as the millions of other people who own them, but the sound quality plays second fiddle to the impressive tech inside. That’s not an issue any more, because the Sonos One has Amazon Alexa built in. Built on the, as they describe it, “mini-but-mighty blueprints of PLAY:1” the Sonos One is powered by a pair of Class-D amplifiers and custom-built drivers that are tuned specifically for the speaker’s unique acoustic architecture. It also has six custom-designed microphones with smart voice capture and noise cancellation technology so she who shall not be mentioned can hear you regardless of how loud the music is. It wouldn’t be a Sonos product if it wasn’t built to pair with other speakers for multi-room audio, and Sonos One is no different, with the ability to pair multiples for stereo sound, a sub for better base or even your Playbase soundbar for surround sound. Google Assistant and Apple Airplay 2 support is also on the calendar for next year if you’re not a fan of Alexa. The all new Sonos One is up for pre-order now and will be available starting October 24.
