The world of sportswear seems to have fully embraced 3D printing technology. From 3D-printed bikes to next-generation footwear, these production improvements allow sports brands to custom mold impressive new gear. Adidas, which recently released their 4D FWD sneakers, announced a stunning pair of 3D-printed sports sunglasses. This impressive line of eyewear, dubbed the 3D CMPT, makes use of a flexible nylon structure and a rubberized coating to create the unique spiraling texture. Impressively, the one-piece matte black frame weighs a paltry 20 grams for a comfortable, light feel. Non-slip contact points on the nose pads and end tips mean that you can rock these shades while cycling, running, or lounging without fear of them slipping off. Initially, a limited batch of the 3D CMPT will be made available to members of Adidas’ Creators Club starting on August 23rd. There’s no word yet on when another batch will sold to the general public. Initial pricing for the new eyewear starts at $415 with only 150 pieces made in the first run.
